We’ll start with selecting the edge loop that goes in the direction that we want it to go.
Then, we’ll use a tool called “checker deselect”.
Checker deselect tool can be located underneath the “Select” category.
As it can be seen in the screenshot, the displayed parameters selected/deselected every other edge along the ring.
Now the next step would be telling the Blender how we want to select our edges vertically, aka which faces we want to select.
Here I am selecting another edge loop in the vertical direction that I want them to go.
Then the next step is telling Blender to select the faces of the edges that we marked via “Edge Rings” tool. And that’s it.
