Blender Quick Tips: How to select all edges between two points without manually selecting each edge one by one?

In the following screenshot, I have already selected an edge, and I want to select the edge within the area surrounded by the rectangle and anything in between. To do this, as demonstrated here, we first select our initial edge as usual:

Then we can press and hold ‘Ctrl’ while selecting the other edge. This will choose all edges that fall on the calculated route between the two points:
